We know that for many, riding a Segway is a new experience. That's why every single one of our Uluru Segway tours includes a comprehensive training session designed to get you feeling safe and ready to roll!

Here's what our training includes:
Clear Demonstration: Our expert guides will show you exactly how to operate the Segway.
One-on-One Tuition: You'll receive personalized guidance to help you get the hang of it quickly.
Practice Time: Take your time on our dedicated obstacle course to build your confidence before heading out to explore Uluru's incredible landscapes.
You'll be surprised how quickly you pick it up – most people feel comfortable within minutes!

Important Note on Suitability:
While Segwaying is a fantastic adventure, it does require a basic level of fitness. Our tours are ideal for active and healthy individuals aged between 12 and 55 years. For safety reasons, this activity is not suitable for pregnant women. Additionally, guests over the age of 55 should carefully consider if this adventure aligns with their current fitness levels.

Do you ever wonder about what things look like behind the scenes? Like what do our guides do, when they aren't guiding? How do they prepare all of our equipment and ensure the day runs smooth? Well thanks to our amazing @brittany_r572, you don't have to ever wonder, here's what behind the scenes of a "truck shift" looks like at Uluru Segway Tours.

When working on "truck shift" our guides are responsible for setting up, packing up and coordinating segways, safety equipment and everythigng behind the scenes to keep tours running smoothly. Thanks to our truck shift staff, our guides can focus on the important things, like telling cheesey jokes, sharing cultural information and helping our guests learn about Uluru, capture amazing photos and create great memories.

Planning to join us for a sunrise tour this winter? Be prepared for a chilly start! 🥶 Our morning temperatures are currently dipping below 5°C (that's quite cold!). But don't worry, the breathtaking views are worth it!

Here's our top tip for what to wear on your sunrise tour:

Layer, layer, layer! This is key.
Long pants: Think jeans or comfortable long pants.👖
T-shirt : Ready for the sun to warm you after it rises 👕👚
Warm jacket: A proper winter jacket or puffer is highly recommended to start! 🧥
Beanie & Gloves: Essential for keeping those extremities warm. (If you forget the gloves, don't panic these are available to purchase on site). 🧤🧣
The good news? The views are worth it!! And once the sun rises and the day progresses, the temperatures warm up beautifully! You'll find yourself shedding layers, and by midday, a t-shirt or light cover is all you need.

👕👚Layers are super useful. Think t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and a fleece or light jacket.
🧤Warm clothing for at night and sunrise mornings. A good warm jacket, gloves & beanie are essential!
🥾Sturdy Shoes. No Red Centre trip is complete without doing some walking and exploring, so comfortable and supportive footwear is key.
🚰 Water Bottle. Central Australia is a semi-arid region and you need to stay hydrated.
🎒Backpack: For carrying your essentials (snacks, water and camera) whilst you're out and about.

We often meet travellers who are excited to ride a Segway, but are sometimes a little nervous. One of the most frequent questions we get asked is "Can I ride a Segway?".

To help you determine if our adventure tours are right for you, our reservations team has created a handy checklist.
✅ Children must be aged 12 years and up.
✅ We recommend our tours for those aged up to 55 years, for those above 65 years, we strongly suggest you consider other Uluru Adventures.
✅ Weigh between 45kg -117kg
✅ Travellers need to be fit enough to ride a bike and be free from serious injury or illness
❌Our tours are sadly not suitable for pregnant travellers.
✅ Finally, be ready for an adventure. If you wouldn't join in other adventure activities, like surfing, skiing or horse riding, then we might not be quite the right tour for you.

Have you ever seen a legless lizard before?

These unique creatures are often mistaken for snakes, when in fact they are more closely related to geckos. One of their most notable features of a legless lizard is the pointed snout.

Reptile identification can be tricky, and we don't recommend getting too close to any slithering critters to check 🐍, however on this occasion, our brave photographer was able to verify his subject was indeed a legless lizard.

Did you know that from April - October, we have tours running from sunrise right through until sunset, enabling you to flexibly fit our tours into your tour schedule.

For example our Uluru's Best & Segway Tour runs from 8:20am - 12:30pm at this time of year. This tour is best for travellers who want to learn as much as they can about Uluru, as it includes Segway riding to see the most scenic sections of Uluru with guided walks to explore caves and take a deep dive into learning about Anangu culture.

Our Uluru By Segway, which runs in the afternoons is a great option for families. It is a real adventure tour and includes a guided Segway tour that circumnavigates the full base of Uluru. If taking advantage of our transfer service, this tour wraps up around 4:30pm, enabling you to head off and enjoy many of sunset activities on offer after your Segway tour concludes.

Typically in April as we begin to see the onset of cooler weather, processionary caterpillars emerge. These hairy caterpillars can be seen follow touching following one behind the other in long lines moving across the ground. This particular line was about 2 metres long, however they can get much longer than they.
